The story ......
- A group began in march 2006 aiming to encourage young people to explore and develop their knowledge of human rights.
- Reebok kindly offered to sponsor this project and become involved in the programme.
- There was an enthusiastic atmosphere and attitude and an additional goal was to achieve an AQA Young Peoples Rights and Responsibilities.
- The programe discussed: conflict resolution, active citizenship, children's rights and there was a visit by a human rights activist from Kashmir.
- The programe culminated with a group presentation held at the Reebok UK headquarters.
- Reebok International Human Rights Award was explained and a member of the group was voted to represent the group at the annual ceremony in New York.
- After the summer break the group visited Reebok to conduct a presentation which analyzed the selection of human rights activists and their achievements.
- The project, with regular meetings continued to build. The young people took "to the helm" and supervised their own plans for the future.
- A BIG THANK YOU is expressed to Alanna Rice for her hard work and motivation.
