We try to make the Club a 'home from home' for young people - somewhere they feel comfortable and always welcome.
We insist that the Club is a safe place for young people to go, but we also try to make it challenging, a place where they can try new things and most importantly learn new things about themselves. We are committed to keeping the Club cheap - it costs just 40p for a 4 hour session - there's not much point having a home that you cannot afford to go to! The Senior Club keeps hundreds of Bolton's youngsters safe and active and away from trouble. If young people have nowhere to go that is affordable, appropriate and accessible then they do get BORED and do get into trouble. Many young people drift into vandalism, crime and drug-use simply because it's more exciting than doing nothing.
The Senior Club tries to offer just these things to our young people and help them to a happy adolescence and hopefully a bright and successful future.
We offer 3 evening sessions per week for younger children (8 - 12 years) - a chance for youngsters to start finding their feet, probably their first taste of a leisure or sports activity away from mum or dad. It's a great introduction to the Club and the chance to make new friends and take up new sports and activities.
It is so important that we get this bit right. If we do, then it is usually the start of a long and happy association with the Club. Friday night in the Junior Club is really something special; 250 children intent on letting off steam and having a great time - not everyone's "cup of tea"! - so a special word of thanks to our great staff team who run the Junior Club.
