The Patrons Society was established in 1993 to provide a regular source of income towards the running costs of the Club. It has become a wonderful support for the Club, currently providing over £100,000 each year and this is guaranteed by ongoing annual commitments so that we can plan ahead. Details on the cost of becoming a Patron, Premier Patron or Super Patron are different for companies and individuals because of the changes to tax effective giving made in April 2000. We can now only claim tax back on contributions from individuals. All Patrons are named on individual brass plaques at the entrance to the Club and are listed and thanked in the Annual Report. We also hold an annual dinner for all our members of the society. We are very close to our Patrons, providing them with regular reports on the Club's activities and inviting them to events and into the Club to meet members and feel part of the organisation. Some come often, others we rarely see, but they all care very much about the Club and the young people of Bolton they are helping. The Patron Society money is put to good use helping young people who can really benefit from the Club. There is no doubt that for many members, the Club is a lifeline.
