Our facilities

Young people deserve high quality facilities that are fit for purpose and we are lucky enough to have state of the art facilities for our members to use.

Fitness Suite

The Club has a large fully equipped Fitness Suite where members can take part in supervised exercise sessions with fully qualified fitness instructors. The aim is to highlight the positive and fun aspects of a healthy lifestyle, with the hope that best practices learnt at the Club will be carried on into adulthood.

 

 

 

 

Multi purpose sports hall
The multi purpose sports hall enables the Club to provide a wide range of indoor sporting activities. Some of the sports played include football, indoor cricket, netball, volleyball and tennis. Large enough for a full size basketball match; the hall can be easily sectioned to enable four spate sporting activities to take place.

 

 

 

 

Climbing Wall
The indoor roped climbing wall enables our outdoor adventure team to give young people an opportunity to experience a taster, in all weathers, of the outdoor pursuits provided by the Club. It also enables the youngsters to experience a different kind of fitness activity.

 

 

 

 

 


Arts and Crafts
Our designated arts and crafts area enables young people to explore their self-expression and develop self-confidence through the medium of arts and craft, activities include painting, drawing and photography.

 

 

 

 

 

Recreational area
The recreational area is the general ‘hub’ of the Club, providing young people with a space in which to catch up with their friends or have a hot meal served from the Club’s kitchen, a great place to build relationships with staff and volunteers and to deliver youth work programmes.

 

 

 

 

 

Performing Arts Studio
The Club’s Performing Arts studio enables members to creatively express themselves through music, dance and drama to develop their interest in the performing arts.

 

 

 

 

 

Enterprise Zone
The Club is committed to helping young people access training, apprenticeships or further education. Our dedicated Enterprise rooms offer a space in which youngsters can work on their CV, gaining advice and guidance from members of the local business community and dedicated Enterprise staff.

 

 

 

Astro Turf
The Astro Turf pitch enables the Club to provide sporting development sessions under the expert guidance of the Club’s trained coaches. A dedicated area for football ensures our indoor sports hall programme can be varied.

 

 

 

 

Boxing gym
The Club houses a boxing gym, complete with full size boxing ring and training facilities where our young boxers can train effectively. Alumni of the Club’s boxing provision include former WBA Super and IBF Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan.

 

 

 

 

 

The BLGC Multi-Sports Facility
Newly re-opened early in 2016, the state-of-the-art facilities here include an 11-a-side, floodlit, all-weather 3G pitch.

 

 

 

 

 

Group Work rooms
The Club has a number of smaller rooms dedicated to developmental group work or one to one work with young people.
